LB Agar, Lennox L, also referred to as Luria-Bertani Agar, is a widely used medium in molecular biology applications for maintaining and cultivating recombinant strains of E. coli. LB Agar, Lennox contains half the amount of sodium chloride as that of the Miller formulation which allows for the researcher to be selective of the salt content when working with a specific strain. MOLTOX offers a wide variety of LB Agar, Lennox plates with the addition of several different types and concentrations of antibiotics to provide a more selective medium for recombinant cells with a specific antibiotic resistance. Used as an industry standard for maintaining and cultivating recombinant strains of E. coli and for the preparation of plasmid DNA, MOLTOX offers a large selection of LB Agars and Broths with plenty of added antibiotics to choose from for a more selective media. Some media are temperature sensitive and may have specific temperature and storage requirements for shipping/delivery.

Plate Count Agar, or Standard Methods Agar, is used for the enumeration of bacteria in a variety of samples including dairy products, food, water and other materials. Each lot of media from MOLTOX is tested for sterility, where applicable, and its ability to support the growth of the appropriate microorganism. All media are accompanied by GLP-compliant formulation and Quality Control certificate.

Also known as TSA or Trypticase Soy Agar, Tryptic Soy Agar is used for the isolation and cultivation of fastidious and nonfastidious microorganisms. This medium can be used for a wide variety of purposes including maintenance of stock cultures, plate counts and microorganism isolation of a range of specimens. It is also used for testing bacterial contaminants in cosmetics. The addition of blood can be used for the visualization of hemolytic reactions produced by various bacterial species. The addition of Tween 80 (Polysorbate 80) and/or Lecithin, is used for environmental monitoring as they inactivate disinfectant residue. Whether you need a general-purpose, nonselective media or you need added blood to facilitate a more fasitdious bacterial lawn for the detection of hemolytic reactions, we have several products to choose from. Some media are temperature sensitive and may have specific temperature and storage requirements for shipping/delivery.

LB Agar, Miller, with Chloramphenicol-30 is a selective and non-differential medium recommended for the propagation and maintenance of recombinant strains of Escherichia coli. LB Agar, Miller is a nutritionally rich media developed by Miller for molecular genetics studies. RPI media is now available in convenient premeasured and pre-mixed capsules. Prebuffered media eliminates pH adjustments. Capsules contain all necessary ingredients for maintenance and propagation of E. coli.
Simply add 2 x 500 mL capsules to one liter of water, sterilize by autoclaving for 15 minutes at 121°C. Supplied as 40 gm capsule.

RPI Media is now available in convenient pre-measured and pre-mixed capsules. Prebuffered media eliminates messy weighing and pH adjustments.
Simply dissolve 1 capsule per 1 Liter of distilled water. Water must be 37°C or warmer to completely dissolve gelatin capsule. Agitate. Sterilize by autoclaving for 15 minutes before use. Buffer is set for 7.2 at 20°C using a 10mM solution of Tris/Tris HCl. pH will vary depending on temperature.
For maintenance and propagation of E. Coli. High Salt Formula. Molecular Biology Grade.

S2 Media 100mL MacConkey (MAC) Broth, 125mL Media Bottle, 1ea
MacConkey Broth is a selective and differential liquid medium intended for selection and isolation of enteric gram-negative bacilli, such as coliforms. The original formulation of MacConkey Broth, developed by MacConkey in 1900, contained 0.5% sodium taurocholate (inhibitor) and litmus (indicator). Several iterations were subsequently proposed and in 1905 litmus was replaced with neutral red. In 1953, Childs and Allen replaced neutral red with bromocresol purple after studies demonstrated it was less inhibitory. To prepare media, add 15 grams to 1 liter of water.
Research Products International Corp Nutrient Agar, 1 Kilogram
For cultivating a variety of non-fastidious organisms.
Dissolve 23g in one liter distilled water. Heat solution to boiling with continuous stirring for one minute. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes. Mix medium with gentle agitation to avoid bubbles prior to pouring plates. Store at room temperature.
